At Gemba, we’re transforming training for global manufacturing companies with our immersive VR platform. We’re on the hunt for an ambitious Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing event sales team. This is an entry-level role where you’ll get stuck into outbound prospecting, cold calling, and selling to senior decision-makers at some of the world’s biggest businesses.
What You’ll Be Doing 👇
- Prospecting for Leads: Research and identify potential clients in the manufacturing industry - think big businesses with a factory and finding the most senior people that run them.
- Cold Outreach: Dive into outbound calls, emails, and LinkedIn outreach to spark interest in Gemba’s VR solutions - we have to take our product to them, they don't come to us...yet! 📞
- Building Connections: Engage with prospects, understand their pain points, and communicate how Gemba can solve them. Have interesting, intelligent conversations at a senior level.
- Closing Deals: Book meetings, set up opportunities for success, negotiate and close deals - by booking places on our much-loved VR training courses aka "masterclasses".
- Keeping It Organised: Track your pipeline, keep the CRM (HubSpot) tidy and up to date, and ensure no lead gets left behind.
- Learning the Market: Stay informed about industry trends in manufacturing, training and virtual reality, to tailor your outreach and approach.
What We’re Looking For 👇
- No Experience? No Problem! Prior experience isn’t required – we’re looking for raw hunger, ambition, and a positive attitude. 🚀
- A Confident Communicator: Comfortable picking up the phone, starting conversations, and building rapport with potential senior clients.
- Motivated and Resilient: Rejection is part of sales – you bounce back quickly and stay focused on the next opportunity. 💪
- Tech-Savvy: While not essential, familiarity with CRM tools, VR, or SaaS platforms is a plus.
- Proactive: You don't wait to be told what to do, you're always asking for the next task, booking the next call, finding the next lead and taking the initiative to get deals quicker.
- Eager to Learn: You’re ready to soak up knowledge, develop your skills, and take feedback on board. 🎓

Details You Need to Know
- 🕗 Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5pm
- 📍 Shoreditch, London (onsite at least 4 days per week)
- Salary: £27,000 per annum + commission
